BLOG: Christmas  - December 2013

So we have Christmas here and I didn't forget (actually not so well) to take a few moments with the table, the Christmas one. And why not so well? It wasn't until my wife pointed this out to me that I didn't take a picture with lighted candles. But then, when we ate, they were already burning, and that's the main thing, isn't it ?

BLOG: Still life with a burning candle  - December 2013

The candle has many meanings. Its flame carries light, warmth and hope. It is a source of romantic mood, festive atmosphere and nostalgic memories. It can bring joy and evoke sadness.  It can save lives, but it can also ruin lives. He just has tremendous power. That is also why it is a frequent motif of paintings, including photographic ones.

BLOG: Leaf as a landscape detail  - November 2013

November is the month of falling leaves, if it has not fallen in October. Leaves can be creative photographers

tempt to a beautiful and enriching work. The leaf itself is beautiful in its detail, when it stands out  its design and a group of leaves can then play a beautiful visual theater within the still life.  I have students one day the issue of detail in photography, now this topic ...

BLOG: Dawn  - October 2013

I like the early morning and I remember with nostalgia my night patrols as a child at scout camps, when I preferred to patrol between four and six o'clock. It was wonderful for me, as a nine-year-old boy, to start in the dark and then watch the light slowly creep in the silence of the night nature, so that at the end of my patrol it would already fully illuminate the space. Other sounds came with the light, and the change seemed mystical to me at the time. I can't boast much of having similar experiences now, because  I don't like to get up earlier than necessary .. Does it matter, does it matter? I don't know, but I have enough roots in my childhood.

BLOG: Shards  - September 2013

Shards of our lives, shards of someone else's happiness or shards of ours, shards of broken glass or God forbid mirrors, fragments of a once-read short story (just in mind?), Strips of torn paper with an undelivered message or phone number doesn't remember ... what else can you find under the term shards? Maybe pieces of gold, right? Or a torn student book?

BLOG: Two  - June 2013

In July, I announced a photo theme called Dvojice for the Photoextract server.

However, I do not mean that we will take pictures of couples in love. It will be a pair of objects.

Both found and arranged still lifes can be included in the photo theme. Within those

I tried to log a bit:

The two items are not exactly the best. I know from experience that it works best

with an odd number of objects. With one or three. Even five. But it's worse with two.

There is always something wrong with such a composition. But what, it's hard to find ...

BLOG: Water in motion  - June 2013

Niagara is humming darkly, it is darkly humming into the night, ...: it was the elders who heard the campfires sing ... There are more songs about water that hums or otherwise rolls. Water is simply an element and often has a place on news sites.

BLOG: Back to childhood  - May 2013

Sometimes I feel like I'm going back to my childhood. This is probably not abnormal.  I guess it happens to everyone sometimes. Maybe he will meet someone who will remind him of his childhood, or he will find his already forgotten children's toy.

BLOG: Calendars  - March 2013

I take photos for a calendar every year. It's usually a holiday for me because it's a job I enjoy. Mostly I can photograph at least partially (sometimes completely) exactly what I want. And such photographic work crowns most orders.

A few photos from March 2013:

BLOG: View to the window (Tribute to Josef Sudek)  - March 2013

The theme is simple:  View to the window.

It can also be a view from the window, to the window and to the window.

What is one of the conditions? It must be a view of the interior.

It must be known from the picture that it is a window (or glass). In this case, the image you would take with the window open as a landscape view would not pass, and the window would not be partially or partially shot. The picture may of course show the window sill and part of the interior. ..

BLOG: Praise  - February 2013

I got praise, not just any. Today, I was praised by the very successful Slovak photographer Jano Štovka. So this blog of mine will not be just mine, I am proud of my colleague's text:

At the beginning of 2013, I took a lot of culinary photography:

BLOG: Selfish doctor  - January 2013

So I can really be a lecturer or at least I can advise what to take pictures.

I had been skiing recently and on the way up I repeatedly noticed interestingly sloping tree branches under the weight of freezing snow. I didn't notice that ...

At the beginning of 2013, I taught several photography courses:

A story from a recent autumn.

Each of us had it for the first time. Someone may not remember, but I do. At least at his camera. It happened recently:

BLOG: End of the World - January 2013

A few days ago, I evaluated the December photo theme on Photoextract.com. The theme was clear: The end of the world. What else to give in the period 21.12.2012 for the topic?

A beautiful topic that confirmed me that we are a creative nation. Isn't it said that a Czech is a photographer?

BLOG: City in winter - January 2013

In connection with the storyline document, it is good to realize that the photos fall

they should definitely not bore the viewer into such a topic. They should show a clear story,

best sharpened. However, the sharp action does not have to be represented only by movement.

Dramatic tension in the faces of the actors within the otherwise serene scene in the photo can

be much more eloquent and interesting.
